They generally require you to submit further personal data, which we use to provide the respective service, and which is subject to the principles regarding data processing described above.

(2) We may sometimes need to contract external service providers to process your data. They are carefully chosen by us, assessed and commissioned in line with the applicable data protection standards, bound by our instructions and are subject to regular checks.

(1) If you have consented to the processing of your data, you may withdraw your consent at any time. Such withdrawal of consent affects whether we may process your personal data from the time we receive it.

(2) Insofar as the processing of your personal data is based on a balancing of interests, you may object to such processing. That is the case when such processing is expressly not required to fulfil a contract with you, as outlined by us in the respective following function descriptions. When such an objection is made, we ask that you provide reasons why we should not continue to process your personal data. In the case of a justified objection on your part, we will assess the matter and stop processing your data, amend such processing, or explain the necessary and legitimate grounds for continued processing.

(3) You may, of course, object to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of advertising and data analysis at any time. You can inform us of your objection to processing for advertising purposes via the address provided above or by e-mail: info[at]deutsche-fachpresse.de.

§ 6 - Information regarding storage periods for personal data:

We store personal data according to a general deletion concept that applies to our association. It requires that personal data is assigned to a deletion class. The deletion class defines storage periods and scheduled dates for the deletion of the personal data. The personal data is deleted after the scheduled deletion date.

§ 7 - Newsletter

(1) We use a double opt-in process for registrations for our newsletter. That means that once you have registered, we send an e-mail to the address provided asking you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm the registration, then your information is automatically blocked. We also save the respective IP address and time of registration and confirmation. The purpose of the process is to prove your registration and, where applicable, to help investigate any misuse of your personal data.

(2) The only information required for receipt of the newsletter is your e-mail address. Following your confirmation, we will save your e-mail address for the purpose of delivering the newsletter. The legal basis for such use is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

(3) You may withdraw your consent for delivery of the newsletter, thereby unsubscribing, at any time. You can withdraw your consent by clicking the link provided in each newsletter e-mail, by e-mail to info[at]deutsche-fachpresse.de, or by sending a message via the contact details listed under Legal information (“Impressum”).

§ 8 - Use of social media plug-ins

(1) We currently use the following social media plug-ins: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, XING. We thereby employ two-click solutions. That means no personal data is transmitted to the provider of the plug-in when you visit our website. You can determine the provider of the plug-in by the labelling in the box above its initials or logo. We give you the opportunity to communicate directly with the provider of the plug-in via the button. The provider of the plug-in only receives the information that you have accessed the respective page of our website if you click the marked field to activate the plug-in. The data listed in § 3 of this Policy is also transmitted. In the case of Facebook and Xing, according to information provided by the respective provider in Germany, the IP address is anonymised immediately after collection. The activation of the plug-in therefore transmits personal data from you to the respective plug-in provider, where it is saved (at American providers in the USA). As the plug-in provider collects data, particularly using cookies, we recommend that you delete all cookies via your browser’s security settings before you click on the greyed-out box.

(2) We have no control over the data collected or subsequent processing, and we do not know the full extent of the data collection, the purposes of processing or the storage periods. We also have no information about the deletion of the recorded data by the plug-in provider.

(3) The provider of the plug-in saves the data collected about you as a user profile and uses it for the purpose of advertising, market research and/or tailored design of their website. Such assessment is, in particular, used for targeted advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website (including users who are not logged in). You have the right to object to the creation of such user profiles, but must exercise that right by contacting the respective plug-in provider directly. We use plug-ins to give you the opportunity to interact with social networks and other users, thereby allowing us to improve our offering and make it more interesting to you as a user. The legal basis for the use of plug-ins is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

(4) Data is provided to the third parties irrespective of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in at the plug-in provider, then the data they collect via our website is immediately assigned to your existing account with the plug-in provider. If you use the activated button, e.g. to link to the site, the plug-in provider also saves that information to your user account and publicly displays it to your contacts. We recommend that after you have finished using a social network you log out regularly, particularly before activation of the button, as that allows you to avoid assignment of the information to your profile at the plug-in provider.

(5) Further information regarding the purpose and extent of the data collection and its processing by the plug-in provider is provided in the data protection policies of those providers, which are listed below. There you will also receive further information about your related rights, along with the settings options for protecting your privacy.
